Some work in the dining room
Thanks to Murphy's quick destruction of the carpet, we decided to rip up the carpet in our front living room/dining room space. Luckily there are hardwoods underneath (score).
Embree is helping:

It took us a good hour to pull out all of the carpet staples.
But the finished product was worth the effort. Though they need some sanding and staining, they still look much better than the dirty, doggy carpet.
The newly revealed floors inspired us to purchase a new rug and dining room set. Our old table was a hand-me-down from Rob's grandma. Keeping it in the family, we are passing it on to Rob's younger sister.
Here are the current before and afters. We'll still be finishing the floors (at a later date) and adding some floating shelves on the wall behind the table (where the Warhol print is currently).

I never thought I'd be a formal dining room person. But I am pretty happy with direction this room is taking.
