Sprucing up the office (that's a tree joke)
I recently moved into a basement office at work. I really like it. It's quiet, private, and I am really productive down here. But everyone who knows me knows that I love plants, and my lack of windows (or any natural light for that matter) makes it tough to keep my plant friends alive down here. Therefore I decided to buy some dumb plants and attempt to trick them using a cheap grow light I found at Walmart ($10). Keep your fingers crossed that this works and I don't have an office full of dead plants in a few weeks.
I cleared a shelf and used heavy duty double-sided tape to mount it to the top of a shelving unit in my office.
Then the fun part - I went plant shopping. In my opinion, Home Depot has the best selection right now since it's still pretty early in the season. I picked up a few things, including my first ever bonsai tree. I debated whether I should name it Bono Bonsai or Bon Jovi Bonsai... or even Bono Jovi Bonsai. Then I remembered I'm not one of those weirdos who names plants. Anyway, here's what I got:
And here they are in their new home:
My office already feels more pleasant.
